This is just from my personal experience.
In college, I had a Palestinian friend who was fascinated with Japanese
culture. He was a blackbelt in Judo and spoke the language quite well,
I reckon (since he had studied it for over 5 years). When he moved to Japan
with his Japanese girlfriend, he told me he couldn't bare the blatant racism
he encountered...
