Comfort women is a euphemism for women who were forced to provide sex for Japanese troops before and during
World War II. Many were from the Korean Peninsula, which was under Japanese colonial rule from 1910 to 1945.
（慰安婦とは第二次大戦前と大戦中に日本軍にセックスの提供を強制された女性たちの婉曲的表現だ。その多くは
1910年から1945年まで日本が植民地支配していた朝鮮半島の出身であった。）
