Maradona mocks humiliated Brazil

Maradona said during his work as a pundit on Venezuelan TV that the Germans had "crushed" their opponents and the scoreline could have been even worse for the sorry Brazil team.
"I had not liked Brazil at any moment in the tournament, but I did not think Germany would be so convincing," Maradona said. "Brazil had no midfield, the defenders Dante and David Luiz never worked together.
"The most serious is that we have been saying that Brazil without Neymar have no play and today they just hit long balls. Germany always had the game in their hand. With the 6-1 [sic] I was about to call off the game because the [tennis] set was already over.
"They did not just roll over them, they crushed them. Every time they [Germany] passed half-way it was half a goal. If they paused, it was to just to tap the ball in. It is hard to pick out one player, as from the goalkeeper to their last substitute they did everything well."

Maradona also celebrated the result by adapting a song, which is being sung by Argentina fans in Brazil, and even his country's happy players earlier in the tournament.
The song uses the tune of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Bad Moon Rising' and usually begins Brasil, decime que se siente [Brazil, tell me how it feels], but Maradona changed this to Brasil, decime que se siete, with 'siete' being Spanish for seven. The same pun on the scoreline was also used by Argentine paper Ole in its report on the game.

Karlheinz Forster, Sie sind 1986 an Argentinien gescheitert. Was wurden Sie heute anders machen?
Das Spiel war damals eigenartig. Wir haben mit der falschen Aufstellung begonnen. Ich habe gegen Jorge Valdano von Real Madrid als linker Verteidiger gespielt, dadurch Hans-Peter Briegel fast als Linksausen und Lothar Matthaus als Vorstopper gegen Maradona.
Was war daran falsch?
Ich hatte von Anfang an gegen Maradona spielen sollen. Das habe ich vor dem Spiel auch gesagt. Erst nach dem 0:2 hat Franz Beckenbauer umgestellt: Ich gegen Maradona, Briegel als linker Verteidiger, Matthaus im Mittelfeld. Aber da war es schon zu spat. Vielleicht hat uns dieser Fehler in der ersten Halbzeit den Titel gekostet.
Wie haben Sie Maradona in Erinnerung?
Gesprochen haben wir auf dem Feld beide nicht. Eines ist mir aber besonders in Erinnerung geblieben. Maradona war nie wehleidig. Er konnte richtig gut einstecken.
Und als Spieler?
Was soll man da sagen? Er war absolut uberragend: Schnell auf den ersten Metern. Er konnte aus vollem Lauf den Ball stoppen, sich drehen. Aber so stark wie bei dieser WM war er nie mehr.

Letzte Frage: Die aktuelle argentinische Nationalmannschaft ist von Lionel Messi ahnlich abhangig wie das 86er-Team von Maradona. Wie muss Joachim Low darauf reagieren?
Das System wegen eines Spielers zu verandern, ware ein groser Fehler. Er muss einfach uberall, wo er auftaucht, bekampft werden, am besten immer von zwei Mann. Wegen eines Spielers das System zu verandern, bringt jedoch nichts. Das hat man 2012 gegen Italien gesehen. Da sind wir bestraft worden.

Miroslav Klose revealed he told Mario Goetze he could prove to be the match-winner when the hero of Germany's FIFA World Cup? triumph replaced the veteran striker on Sunday. Klose, 36, made way for Goetze two minutes from the end of normal time at Estadio Maracana. Goetze then duly delivered a 113th minute winner as Germany clinched their fourth world title.
"Before Mario came on for me, I said to him 'You can make it happen,'" said Klose, who became the all-time leading FIFA World Cup goalscorer in Brazil by scoring his 16th goal in his fourth finals.
Klose, the only player to remain from the Germany team beaten by Brazil in the 2002 final, said the victory more than made up for a series of near-misses.
"It's outstanding, this crowns everything," he said "We finished second once, were third twice, but this is world-class, I can hardly comprehend it. It was always a dream to once be up there (getting the trophy) and not just having to stand around and have to applaud others.The team's performances were important, we wanted to keep our calm because we knew we had the better quality to win it."

個々の能力は高いけどプレーだけ見たら誰が誰だかわからない無個性のメンバーだけど
良く組織され全員で戦い抜いた優れたチームだった
クリンスマンが始めたことがようやく最高の実を結んだ
個人的にman of the matchはシュバインシュタイガーとマスチェにあげたい
