Ransomware attacks have been on the rise and getting
more dangerous in recent years, with cyber criminals
aiming to encrypt as much of a corporate network as
possible in order to extort a bitcoin ransom in return for
restoring it. A single attack can result in cyber criminals
making hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars.

Ransomware Activity Targeting the Healthcare and Public Health Sector
This joint cybersecurity advisory was coauthored by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
This advisory describes the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by cybercriminals against targets in the Healthcare and Public Health Sector (HPH) to infect systems with ransomware, notably Ryuk and Conti, for financial gain.

The victim is told how much to pay to a specified Bitcoin wallet for the decryptor and is provided a sample decryption of two files.
