But seriously, why question? The convention of writing Roman numeral
chords with accidental signs exists in the American style of academic
music theory writing. It's pretty common (though not exclusive), for
example, in articles in Music Theory Spectrum or in convention
papers at the SMT. So is it strange that a returnee like myself would
write that way? Besides, why else would I write that way, huh?
