Ngramで比較以下の3つの文を比較してみた。
1) door doesn’t open,
2) door can’t open,
3) door won’t open

1)の検索結果には、”does not open”も含まれる。
2) には、”can not open” も含まれる。“cannot open”は含まれない。
3)には、”will not open”も含まれる。
総じて、圧倒的に3の使用例が多く、続いて2が多い。
1は圧倒的に少ない。とは言え、使用例を個々に見ていくと、確かにこういう場合にはcan’t が適切であろうと納得できるものがいくつか見つかる。
例えば、Ngramの検索結果にある、2011-2019の用例では、
