文脈的には、ダイエットのプログラムの紹介で、カフェに行って食べ過ぎていませんか？友人とレストランに行って、テーブルに並べられたお菓子を断れますか？
みたいな感じなので
carvings は 彫刻などではなく、食事のとりわけ、という意味でしょうか？
